Our team has visited the world (online) to see what resources are in use in other countries. Find links to each resource at the bottom of this page. Many countries and organizations, sharing our belief that education about organ and tissue donation and transplant are key to shifting attitudes so donation is the norm and not the exception, have developed excellent toolkits, videos, interactive infographics, compelling stories and more. If you decide to use a resource from another country, be sure to also include Canadian facts, stats and information about how donation works in Canada.

Netherlands | The Transplantation Society

Connecting DOTs. Connecting DOTs is an online platform dedicated to educating schoolchildren on donation and organ transplantation (Donation and Organ Transplantation for Schools). It provides information for teachers, students and their families. As organ transplantation is a very important topic for the treatment of end-stage organ disease, it is important to raise awareness amongst the general public.

United Kingdom

The NHS Blood and Transplant have developed free, curriculum-linked resources for secondary school teachers in England, to educate Key Stage 3 and 4 students (11-16 year olds) about blood, organ and stem cell donation. These resources have been developed by NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) in collaboration with the Anthony Nolan, a UK-based charity, and with the support of practicing teachers.

Australia

A series of school education resources available for teachers about organ and tissue donation for transplantation for Year 8 and Year 9 (Grade 9 & 10, in Canada) students. The resources are aligned to learning descriptions in the Australian Curriculum: English, Science, Health and Physical Education, Civics and Citizenship.

United States
